Thailand has much to offer families who wish to have a memorable and culturally rich vacation. With some preparation, families can have a safe and enjoyable travel experience, even with very young children.

Firstly, while Thailand boasts year-round tropical temperatures, the heat can make it difficult for kids to keep up with a dense itinerary. Instead, parents should schedule tours and other outdoor activities during the cooler hours of the early morning and spend the afternoons winding down by the pool or at the beach.

Likewise, parents may worry about food options, especially if their children are finicky eaters. However, child-friendly staples, such as fresh fruits, are widely available. Furthermore, in larger cities, such as Bangkok and Chiang Mai, western supermarkets and restaurants are plentiful. Many children may also enjoy traditional Thai dishes, including mango sticky rice and roti pancakes.
